IRI Academy

A collaboration between academia and industry, the IRI Academy is seeking student applicants with exceptional academic standing to work with faculty and industry experts in a unique research and application environment.

The Academy provides:

  • the advantage of convenient, on-campus internships to the student who balances academia with non-academic responsibilities
  • projects which foster the development of relevant career skills and industry best practices
  • tuition remission for a maximum of 15 resident credit hours per semester of involvement

The IRI Academy seeks to assist its students in reaching their maximum academic and professional potential, cultivating the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to successfully meet the challenges of an increasingly complex and demanding workplace.

The Academy seeks to develop a meaningful student-faculty rapport and to promote understanding of the individual's relationships, rights and responsibilities within the professional community. The Academy encourages the development of student self-worth, self-discipline, respect for others and respect for the intellectual property of others.

The Academy will promote and maintain the highest professional standards, best practices of industry and academia and the pursuit of excellence.

Jan 14th for Spring Semester
Apr 15th for Summer I&II
Aug 1st for Fall Semester

The Goals of the IRI Academy

  • To give undergraduate students the opportunity to collaborate with IUPUI faculty and industry experts.
  • To offer a "best practice" approach to learning by working on real world projects and developing new technology solutions.
  • To encourage the development of team-building and project management skills.
  • To accustom students to business culture and the technology specific to business needs.
